Hi!  I'm Sarah Peasley, Handknitter.  Welcome to my website!

My spell check program tells me that “handknitter” isn't a word (of course, it tells me that stockinette stitch doesn't exist, either.  Silly spell check program!).  "Hand knitter" (two words) is the preferred phrase, but I don't like it.  It sounds more like a verb -- like something one does.  "Handknitter", the single word, is more like a noun -- something one simply is.  It's what I am.  I don't just knit by hand.  I am a handknitter.

I love to knit, and I love to help people enjoy their knitting.  I offer lots of interesting, tip-filled classes involving useful projects that are both challenging and doable.  I've been rewarded with classes filled with eager, talented students.  Check out the Gallery to see your work on display!

I'm taking some time off from teaching to be at home with my family, but I’m also working on class development, pattern design, and knitting samples, samples and more samples.
